Our strategy
Our vision is that people can access real-world practical learning from a young age, complementing their primary and secondary education and boosting their future employment opportunities.
Our mission is to be a model example for delivering practical learning alongside formal education, to provide an inclusive community hub to foster positivity and wellbeing, and to support the national need to encourage more people to embark on STEM-related careers.
Strategic Vision for Beneficiary Engagement
We will engage more young people and adults to encourage a greater interest in railways, gain practical and design skills, and develop an interest in STEM-related careers.
Strategic Vision for Infrastructure Development
We will have modern facilities and equipment to support beneficiary enagagement, increase the accessibility for wider community involvement, and to be able to perform more on-site engineering activities.
Strategic Vision for Governance Development
Our charitable organisation will support the execution of our activities, without placing excessive liabilities on our trustees and supported by a robust governance framework.
Strategic Vision for Charity Sustainment
Our charitable organisation will be appropriately funded and staffed by volunteers with the necessary skills, knowledge and passion to deliver our activities and future ambitions.

Hoyland Down Redevelopment Project
Throughout 2018-2019 we formulated preliminary designs and plans to upgrade our infrastructure by replacing all our buildings with modern improved buildings. In February 2020, we successfully obtained planning permission from Herefordshire Council providing us with the regulatory green light to proceed.
